Land Rover recalls 464 Defenders

LAND ROVER has voluntarily recalled 464 Defenders in Australia as part of a world-wide campaign to rectify potentially defective securing bolts on the front seatbelt mounting brackets.

Affected models include 90, 110 and 130 variants manufactured between February 2010 and January 2012 with the following VIN ranges:LD072831 - LD076667LD400002 - LD416856LD799521 - LD826096Land Rover Australia spokesman James Scrimshaw told GoAuto no incidences have been reported in Australia or overseas and that the company it taking preventative action.

Mr Scrimshaw said dealers are briefed on the matter and the remedial work (carried out free of charge) takes around 30 minutes.

In March last year 223 Defenders were recalled to inspect and rectify a potential oil leak from the rear of the transfer case that could have resulted in contaminated parking brake shoes and rendered them unable to hold the vehicle stationary.
