LAND ROVER’S long-overdue Freelander 2 compact SUV debuted in Sydney yesterday ahead of its market introduction early next year.
It will offer a choice of two engines: a Ford-sourced 118kW/400Nm 2.2-litre TD4 diesel, and a Volvo-sourced 171kW/317Nm 3.2-litre inline-six petrol.
Both will be paired with a six-speed automatic. Land Rover also released details and pricing for the new 3.6-litre TDV8 Range Rover Vogue and Range Rover Sport.
The RR Vogue TDV8 starts from $140,900, rising to $165,900 for the TDV8 Luxury, while the Range Rover Sport TDV8 is priced from $107,900.
The 3.6-litre TDV8 develops 200kW at 4000rpm and 640Nm from 2000rpm and has a combined fuel economy figure of 11.3L/100km in the Vogue and 11.1L/100km in the Sport.
Both the Vogue and Sport accelerate from 0-100km/h in 9.2 seconds.
The normally aspirated Range Rover Vogue 291kW V8 petrol and supercharged 225kW V8 petrol models continue.
