Rangie gets softer

LAND ROVER has introduced a new “Autobiography” specification variant to its flagship Range Rover luxury SUV range, which adds almost $16,000 to the price of the TDV8 Luxury and replaces the top-shelf Supercharged model for an extra $14,860.

For the extra money, Autobiography models come with an interior that’s claimed to comprise more leather than ever before in a Range Rover Vogue, with the fascia, doors, seats, centre console and even floor mats being leather-lined.

Clad with semi-aniline leather, which is claimed to be the softest grade of leather available, the interior also features new front seat designs with contrast stitching to accompany the full leather coverage on the facia topper, glovebox lids, the area around the centre vents, behind the steering wheel, the driver's knee airbag cover and even the front and rear door casings and door bins.

Autobiography variants also comprise acoustic and ‘climate’ glass for the windscreen and front side windows, which is said to reduce both noise and heat.

The most luxurious Range Rover Vogue ever produced will also feature new 20-inch diamond-turned twin-seven-spoke alloy wheels, a ‘Diamond Mesh’ grille and side vents, black and silver badging, and stainless steel pedal details.

“The new Range Rover Vogue Autobiography further enhances what is already the world's most complete luxury 4x4, offering even higher quality materials and finishes with the ability to personalise your vehicle to suit your own sense of taste and style,” said Land Rover Australia general manager Roger Jory.

The flagship Supercharged Autobiography variant pushes Range Rover Vogue pricing to as high as $212,700, while the TDV8 Autobiography costs $193,600.

Meantime, the entry-level Range Rover Vogue TDV8 is now $50 pricier at $153,400, while the TDV8 Luxury variant is $20 more expensive at $177,700.
