LEXUS has released a special-edition ‘X’ version of its GS luxury sedan before it is replaced by an all-new model in the first half of next year.
Priced at just $89,900 drive-away for the GS300 X Sports and $94,900 drive-away for the GS300 X Sports Luxury, Lexus says the limited-edition large sedans represent a $10,000 better value over the standard GS300 Sports ($97,814 plus on-road costs) and GS Sports Luxury ($106,814 plus ORCs).
Extra features include five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels from the GS460, a rear lip spoiler from the GS460/450h hybrid, unique ‘X’ badging, the option of ‘glass flake’ paint treatment and, for the cheaper GS300 X Sports, a sunroof, keyless entry/starting and reverse parking sensors, which are already standard on the regular GS300 Sports Luxury.
The GS 300 X is available in 10 exterior colours, including the latest addition to the colour palette – ‘Starlight Black’, which contains special glass flakes that reflect and refract light while allowing it to pass through to the base coat.
