LOTUS Cars Australia has secured a limited number of race-derived Exiges for hard-core performance enthusiasts.
"We have secured 10 Exiges, which are arriving as we speak," Lotus Cars Australia general manager Chris van Wyk said.
"All but two have been pre-sold to dealers. The homologation process is in progress.
"The Exige is a very focused product. It is essentially a detuned race car for someone who wants to do Targa Tasmania or just likes the feel of a race car." The $130,000 road rocket comes with fully adjustable suspension and AP racing brakes.
Australia-bound cars will also feature a radio-fitting kit, alarm, leather seats and alcantara trim.
EXIGE VITAL STATISTICS: Engine: 1.8-litre K Series

Home away from home
LOTUS Cars Australia general manager Chris van Wyk said the Cavalli restaurant/dealership on Fitzroy St, St Kilda, performed a valuable lifestyle role - serving as a home away from home for Lotus owners.
The establishment doubles as the Melbourne showroom for Lotus, as well as a Ducati motorcycle and Vespa scooter franchise.
Mr van Wyk said Lotus would always remain a niche brand in Australia and its dealer network was accordingly small - there are eight outlets plus two dedicated service dealers.
He also suggested a new generation of the ageing Esprit was in the pipeline.
