Mahindra expands Pik-Up range

MAHINDRA Automotive Australia Pty Ltd (MAAPL) has expanded its Pik-Up range with an additional four variants to bolster the Indian-built workhorse line-up from five to nine versions.
Still kicking off at $21,990 driveaway for the 4x2 Single Cab S6 Cab Chassis, the two-wheel-drive Pik-Up is now bolstered by the S6 Cab Chassis with Tradie Pack for $23,990 and the higher-spec S10 Cab Chassis for $25,990.
S6 grades come standard with plastic-covered steel wheels, infotainment system with radio, CD and MP3 compatibility, projector headlights, and air-conditioning.
The Tradie Pack bundles a general purpose aluminium tray, Bluetooth functionality and cruise control, while the top-spec S10 gains 16-inch alloy wheels, a 6.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, daytime running lights and climate control.
The $26,990 4x4 Single Cab S6 Cab Chassis is also now joined by an S10 version for $28,990.
Most 4x4 Dual Cab versions carry over with the S6 Cab Chassis, S6 Cab with Tub and S10 Cab with Tub for $29,490, $29,990 and $31,990 respectively, but Mahindra has added an S10 Cab Chassis grade for $31,500.
All Pik-Ups are powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mHawk engine outputting 103kW of power and 330Nm of torque that is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, enough for a two-and-a-half-tonne towing capacity.
MAAPL head of automotive business Russell Thiele said the expanded Pik-Up range will serve Mahindra well as it eyes two more retail outlets in the near future.
“We have been chasing supply from the factory ever since launch of the new Mahindra Pik-Up,” he said. “Sales have been great and with new metro dealers in Geelong and Penrith about to be announced, momentum in the light-commercial segment is with Mahindra.
“Many of our farm and trade customers like our S10 Dual Cab but have been wanting those specifications in Single Cab. Now with the introduction of S10 4x4 and 4x2 Single Cab, we are able to offer a truly competitive high-spec ute in the light-commercial market.”
