LEAKED pictures of the all-new Mazda2 have spread like wildfire on the web, apparently revealing the curvaceous new baby hatch from the Japanese manufacturer.
The pictures are of the five-door light hatchback in Japan, where it is called Demio. The official-looking images most likely originated in that country, but exploded once in the hands of American website Carscoops.
The leaking of the pictures gazumps the official Mazda unveiling of the car, which is said to be imminent.
As Carscoops reports, the 2015 Mazda2 is faithful to the Hazumi Concept shown at the Geneva motor show in March, complete with the styling language already seen on new-generation Mazda cars such as the Mazda3 and Mazda6.
The Mazda2 will incorporate the company’s SkyActiv technologies, in both the chassis and powertrains.
Globally, the new model will be equipped with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel powertrains with six-speed transmissions.
The car is due in Australia late this year.
