THE instrument panel is set in a pod which projects out from the dashboard. It has a clam-shaped top and three semi-circular dials. On the left is a small gauge for the tachometer, in the middle is the larger speedo dial which advances in 20km/h increments, and on the right-hand side is the fuel gauge. Within the speedo housing is a semi-circular field containing a multi-functional display which includes the trip computer readout controlled via buttons on the steering wheel, plus a gear indicator for the Tipshift automatic, outside temperatue, time, trip meter, telephone, audio and malfunction/warning readouts. Perhaps surprisingly, the feel of the dash materials isn't all that soft-touch, but the fit and finish is certainly of good quality.
