MERCEDES-BENZ has added two new Sports Packages to its E-Class sedan and wagon range.

Available on the E220K sedan, and E350 and E500 sedan and wagon, the standard pack – costing an extra $2000-$4900, depending on the model variant – includes sports-tuned suspension and exhaust, a 10 per cent more direct steering ratio (14.7:1), bigger brakes and a more aggressive wheel and tyre combination: 10-spoke 18-inch light-alloy wheels with 245/40 series tyres at the front and 265/35s at the rear.

Other exterior features run to silver-painted front brake callipers, side skirts and a rear apron, twin oval tailpipes and headlamp washers.

Inside, there is extra bolstering and leather added to the front seats, gearshift buttons on the steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, velour mats.

An AMG Sports Package priced between $10,650 and $12,550 (again, depending on model variant) is also available on the E350 and E500. It features an AMG front and rear apron, 18-inch five-spoke alloys and a twin-pipe exhaust system with chrome tailpipes.
