MIRAGE buyers can choose either a five-speed manual or four-speed "fuzzy logic" automatic transmission. The auto uses Mitsubishi's heralded INVECS (Intelligent Vehicle Electronic Control System) II Smart Logic which adjusts to the road and driving conditions. The system aims to provide the right gear for the prevailing situation, rather than hunting for the right gear. Not only does it adapt to the terrain, it maps the driver's style and adapts the gearshifts accordingly.
