UPDATED 03/09/2012NISSAN Australia has appointed Peter Fadeyev as manager of public relations and corporate communications, replacing current PR chief Jeff Fisher, who will head up the company’s new Australian Nissan Motorsport division.
Mr Fadeyev will add the Nissan brief to his current role as national media and public relations manager for the Nissan-owned Infiniti luxury brand – launching in Australia this week – which he commenced in January this year.
The appointment comes as Nissan gears up for an array of Australian model launches over the next 12 months including the all-new Pulsar small car, new-generation Patrol and Pathfinder SUVs and the Maxima-replacing Altima mid-sized sedan.
Mr Fadeyev told GoAuto he was excited at the prospect of adding the new role to his existing responsibilities.
"This is a great opportunity. Both Nissan and Infiniti are entering exciting phases in their Australian journeys and I'm thrilled with my new responsibilities," he said.
Mr Fadeyev will be supported in his new role by Nissan Australia press and public relations supervisor Chris Jordan, who started with the company in April this year.
Mr Fisher, who joined Nissan Australia in 2006, moves to the position of general manager of Nissan Motorsport as it prepares to enter the V8 Supercar series in 2013 with a racing version of the Altima based on the Car of the Future platform also shared by Holden and Ford.
Mr Fisher is said to have spearheaded Nissan's V8 Supercar integration plan and will work closely with management at Kelly Racing, which transitions from Holden Commodores to a Nissan factory team next year.
