Nissan launches Navara Black Edition

BY MATT BROGAN | 13th Aug 2024

NISSAN Australia has announced details of its 2024 Navara Black Edition, due in showrooms from early September.

Priced from $59,990 dive-away, and adding what the importer says is additional style, substance and ingenuity, the Navara SL-based Black Edition features up to $9700 of additional value on top of the dual-cab four-wheel drive variant on which it is based.

Just 400 examples of the Nissan Navara Black Edition will be offered locally, each featuring addition equipment highlights including 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels shod with Yokohama Geolander A/T tyres, black sports bar, black door handles, black mirror caps, and Black Edition decals.

Further, the limited-edition variant offers a tub liner, soft tonneau cover and a matte black grille surround. It is offered in two standard colours, Solid White and Black Star, or optional premium colours Twilight Grey and Brilliant Silver ($700).

Joining the options list is an electric roll-top cover and remote locking tailgate bundle ($500), both designed and made in Australia and operable via the vehicle’s key fob. The towbar kit depicted remains a $1030 option.

“We know how popular accessories are with Nissan Navara customers, because they allow them to make their ute their own,” said Nissan Australia marketing director Sriram Padmanabhan.

“Which is why, through Nissan Genuine Accessories, we’ve built a vast catalogue of work, lifestyle, and style options.

“Now, with the Black Edition, we have bundled some the Navara 4x4 options with associated accessories like HSP to deliver real style, real substance, and real value.”

The Navara Black Edition remains powered by Nissan’s 2.3-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine producing 140kW and 450Nm. It is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and dual-range four-wheel drive system and offers up to 3500kg of braked towing capacity.

Standard equipment includes auto LED lighting and high beam assist, rain-sensing wipers, rear privacy glass, black side steps, power sliding rear window, tailgate assist, a locking rear differential and steel under-radiator bash plate.

Inside, the Navara is equipped with air-conditioning, cloth upholstery, leather-accented steering wheel rim and gearshift selector knob, keyless entry, USB-A and USB-C charging ports, and an 8.0-inch infotainment array with six-speaker sound and both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Standard safety equipment remains as per the Navara SL with key features including seven airbags, trailer sway control, hill start assist, hill descent control, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and AEB, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, and more.
