NISSAN got its sums right, in terms of steering response with the GQ Patrol, which was a relief because memories of the long-gone and horrendous MQ persist.
The latest Patrol continues with a proven formula, using a recirculating ball system that manages to provide some feel and wheel response while still being light enough to park the 2385kg off-roader without effort. The turning circle is reasonable at 12.5 metres and the ratio is sharp enough to have the wheel twirling from lock to lock in exactly three turns.
