NISSAN presented its new Rogue compact SUV at Detroit this week, which will sit between the Qashqai and Murano and compete against the likes of the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester.
It will not be seen in Australia as the new X-Trail – that will be left to a re-bodied version of the Renault Koleos, to be built in Japan.
However, the Rogue does have some features to watch out for, including a 126kW/238Nm 2.5-litre DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine paired with a standard Xtronic CVT with paddle shifters.
It will be available with either front-wheel drive or a new AWD system with yaw rate control.
The Rogue will cost $US20,000 ($A25,600) when it goes on sale in North America mid-year.
