Nissan updates X-Trail for 2025
NISSAN has announced changes and pricing revisions for its strong-selling X-Trail medium segment SUV, the range now beginning at $37,750 plus on-road costs – an increase of $500 over the outgoing model.
Five trim levels are now available – including the new N-Trek – with five- and seven-seat configurations on offer in ST, ST-L and N-Trek grades, the choice of two- and all-wheel drive, and petrol-electric e-Power driveline on offer in ST-L, Ti, and Ti-L.
For the entry-level X-Trail ST we find approach unlock and walkaway lock functionality added to the kit list, joining a larger 12.3-inch central infotainment array with standard sat nav, a wireless device charging pad, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The same features are found on the X-Trail N-Trek alongside a handsfree automatic tailgate, while X-Trail Ti-L grades add approach unlock and walkaway lock functionality, and wireless Android Auto.
The newly added X-Trail N-Trek is differentiated by a dark-finished V-motion grille, gunmetal-finished front and rear bumper inlays and black-out wing mirror caps, door handles, and roof rails.
New LED fog lights are incorporated into the restyled front bumper, while variant-specific 18-inch alloys round out the exterior changes.
Paint options for the X-Trail N-Trek include single-tone Ceramic Grey, Champagne Silver, Diamond Black, Gun Metallic, and Ivory Pearl. Dual-tone hues – offered in conjunction with a black roof – include Ceramic Grey, Champagne Silver, and Ivory Pearl.
Moving inside we find water-resistant synthetic leather upholstery Nissan says reflects the “more adventurous spirit of N-Trek buyers who are likely to return to their car after sporty activities outdoors”.
The 2025 Nissan X-Trail range is unchanged visually and mechanically with petrol-powered models featuring a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and e-Power models combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with twin electric motors (one on each axle).
Options include metallic paint ($750), two-tone paint ($1250 – Ti, Ti-L & N-Trek only), and 20-inch alloy wheels ($800 – Ti-L e-Power only).
“The X-Trail is one of Australia’s most flexible — and, with over 300,000 sold to date in Australia, most popular — family-focused SUVs,” said Nissan Australia marketing director Sriram Padmanabhan.
“These MY25 updates aim to further improve the popular X-Trail formula, with important technology and convenience upgrades that our customers will notice and enjoy every time they take the wheel.”
