New 407 flagship

PEUGEOT has released a new flagship for its 407 sedan and wagon range dubbed the 407 SV HDi, powered by the same 150kW/440Nm 2.7-litre twin-turbo diesel V6 that debuted recently in the new 407 Coupe (for $72,500).

The SV HDi comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and is available in both sedan ($61,990) and Touring ($64,990) bodystyles, representing a $6000 premium over the 3.0-litre petrol V6-powered 407 SV sedan and wagon.

Both new 407 variants offer a diesel particulate filter to meet strict Euro 4 emissions standards and deliver peak torque at just 1900rpm. Claimed 0-100km/h acceleration is quoted at a respectable 8.5 seconds, while combined average fuel consumption is rated at 8.4L/100km.

Standard SV HDi equipment includes Xenon headlights, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure sensors, dual-zone climate-control, leather trim, a JBL hi-fi audio with six-CD player, auto headlights and wipers, power/heater front seats, a trip computer, laminated side glass, a colour display screen and an array of safety features including ESP and DSC stability control, ABS, EBD, EBA and six airbags.

It is differentiated from the petrol SV by 18-inch alloy wheels (with a full-size spare), body-coloured rub strips, a chromed grille, a Coupe-style leather sports steering wheel and alloy-look interior highlights.
