CHANGED but the same. The 996 still looks like a 911, despite the changes. The roomier inside and interior styling borrow heavily from the Boxster. The 911 engine is still a flat-six mounted in the rear, but for the first time is cooled by liquid rather than air. The car is greener than ever too, completely free of asbestos, cadmium, quicksilver and CFCs.
