Range Rover introduces Sport SV Edition Two

BY MATT BROGAN | 8th Aug 2024

RANGE ROVER has introduced the newest member to its fold, the Sport SV Edition Two.

The high-end variant is said to blend performance and luxury through a mix of distinct paint and upholstery combinations, each “carefully curated to ensure its assertive presence and sporting personality on the road”.

Joining the unique colourways – Blue Nebula Matte, Ligurian Black Gloss, Marl Grey Gloss and Sunrise Copper Satin – are carbon-fibre garnishing and SV Performance seats offered in a range of colours and materials.

The variant further includes its own branding, said to make it “instantly recognisable”.

Interior design changes are said to bring a deeper connection between car and driver, the sport seats featuring carbon-fibre backboards, illuminated SV logos, 16-way power adjustment, massage, heating, and cooling functions, and rear pews with heating and ventilation as standard.

A redesigned steering wheel features more pronounced thumb grips, a thicker rim, and an illuminated SV Mode button to easily adapt suspension, powertrain, steering, transmission, and exhaust settings. Enlarged and illuminated shift paddles feature +/- icons that change to red when SV mode is activated.

Under the bonnet, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two features a familiar BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance. The vehicle can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 290km/h.

Range Rover says the Sport SV Edition Two is 76kg lighter than the donor variant owing primarily to the inclusion of a Carbon Ceramic Brake package, a standard-fit aerodynamic enhancements, and a carbon-fibre bonnet.

The Sport SV Edition Two rides on Range Rover’s hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension arrangement ensuring a near-level stance, even in heavy manoeuvring.

The variant rides on 22-inch wheels, available in 23-inch carbon-fibre as an option, further improving ride and handling. For all-terrain use, it is equipped as standard with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres.

“What makes the Range Rover Sport SV so desirable is its unique combination of dynamic performance, modern sporting luxury design, its cutting-edge sensory technology, and breadth of capability,” said Range Rover managing director Geraldine Ingham.

“For the first year, this was initially only open to clients by reservation. Today we announce the next step in our SV line-up, Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two, available with new design themes which offer our discerning clients the chance to enjoy four distinct characters of our high-performance SUV.

At the time of publication, pricing for the new Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two had not been shared. GoAuto will update this article as soon as pricing is advised.
