The arrangement at the front axle includes telescopic hydraulic dampers and low-friction coil springs, as well as an anti-roll bar - a heavier-duty version on the Renault Sport (25mm compared to 24mm diameter) - designed to contribute to roll stiffness. The "flexible" rear end refers to the mounting component that attaches the suspension to the body and which is largely responsible for the balance struck between noise filtration (comfort) and stiffness (roadholding). It comprises a rubber insert that acts as a noise filter plus a support that provides high directional stiffness for good roadholding. The flexible axle, within which a 22mm diameter hollow anti-roll bar is housed, connects to two trailing arms.
