Free leather for Koleos in June

RENAULT is offering a claimed $2500 worth of free extra equipment including full leather trim for its compact Koleos crossover in June – on top of price cuts of up to $1000 for the MY2010 model released last month.

Available now for the most popular Koleos variants, Renault’s ‘June value pack’ also comprises other features from the flagship Privilege variant, including heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat and ‘Easy Estate’, a tailgate-operated rear seat folding feature.

This month’s Koleos deal applies only to automatic petrol versions of the entry-level Dynamique grade, including the 4x2 (the price of which was reduced by $500 last month to $33,490) and 4x4, which is now also $1000 cheaper than before at $36,990.



Renault says the Koleos is one of the best-equipped compact SUVs in Australia after the May release of the MY2010 model, which added standard features such as integrated TomTom sat-nav, Bluetooth connectivity, a new rear spoiler, four new body colours and, for the Privilege, a panoramic sunroof and carbon cabin highlights.

All Koleos models come standard with electronic stability control, ABS brakes with EBA, six airbags, automatic headlights and wipers, dual-zone climate-control, cruise control with speed limiter, rear sunblinds, power windows and 17-inch alloys.

The top-shelf Privilege AWD auto (which increased by $1000 last month to $43,990) has leather trim, a premium Bose sound system, front/rear parking sensors and a ‘Modularity Pack’ comprising Easy Pack and other storage solutions.

The price of the cheapest Koleos 4x2 Dynamique (2.5-litre) petrol manual remains unchanged at $31,490, while the sole (4x4 2.0-litre) diesel Koleos stays priced at $39,990.

There are no changes to either the 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre petrol engine – available with either six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions – or the 110kW/360Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, which now comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Koleos sales improved by more than 80 per cent last month on the back of the MY2010 model’s release, to be almost 15 per cent up so far this year.

In the first four months of 2009, however, Renault Australia’s top-selling model has attracted just 334 customers – more than only Land Rover’s Freelander, Suzuki’s Jimny, Skoda’s Scout and the SsangYong Actyon in the booming compact SUV segment.
