Renault Clio RS track action at Sandown

BY DANIEL GARDNER | 18th Mar 2013

RENAULT has released fresh footage of Formula 1 ace Mark Webber putting its new Clio RS 200 through its paces at Sandown last week.

The circuit provided the perfect location for Webber to push Australia’s first new-generation Clio RS to its limits.

Webber may not have got the result he was after when piloting his Red Rull Racing open-wheeler at Albert Park over the weekend, but he certainly got the most out of the Clio at Sandown, proving the little Renault can shake its tail loose when provoked.

The Australian champ – one of the most experienced drivers on the F1 grid - was full of praise for the Clio, although it should be noted that Renault is a major sponsor of his F1 team.

“Racing is in their DNA and that filters down in to their road cars,” he said.

“It provides excellent driving performance and a solution that’s very easy to live with. I think, on the Aussie market, it will go very well”.

Until its official Australian launch in early 2014, the left-hand drive test car seen in this video will be the only one in the country.
