WITH Scenic and other vehicles since the mid-1980s, Renault has shown that it is a master of the "monospace" concept - a design that produces a compact exterior and exceptional internal spaciousness. The Scenic shape takes on a circular, soft-edged look with cues such as its rounded, sloping bonnet, big bulbous headlights, short overhangs front and rear and the curved rear pillar and glass treatment. The Renault "lozenge" is a prominent feature of the front end and flanked by a portion of the black honeycomb grille, while at the rear the smooth surfaces and simple lines aim to give the vehicle a wide - and therefore stable - impression. Alloy wheels are standard on 2.0-litre models.
