ROLLS-ROYCE has produced a limited-edition Phantom Silver to mark the 100th anniversary of the Silver Ghost.
Only 25 units will be produced, substantially fewer than the 6000-plus of the Silver Ghosts built between 1907 and 1925 – the majority of which are still in "good running order", according to RR.
For Australia, Rolls-Royce has confirmed that two cars have been allocated. However, management would not confirm dates, pricing or other information.
In the UK, the Phantom Silver carries a £22,000 ($A52,000) premium over the standard Phantom RRP, which is £219,975 ($A524,000 approx) or slightly more than half the Australian price.
The commemorative model is finished in a new bespoke paint, Metallic Ghost Silver, and has a number of other features including 21-inch alloy wheels, a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet ornament, the choice of "Roseleaf" or "Creme Light" leather interior trim, "Santos Palissander" straight-grained wood veneer, a coolbox, champagne flutes and tumblers detailed in silver, white instrument dials and a matching clock, Phantom Silver scuff plates, two solid silver key fobs, and a specially commissioned solid silver Conway Stewart fountain pen.
Last year, Rolls-Royce sold 805 vehicles across 50 countries, its highest total in 16 years. Volume is expected to rise significantly in coming years, following the company’s confirmation last year that it is developing a smaller vehicle, which would sit below the Phantom upon its release in 2010.
