First look: Saab BioPower future shock

SAAB has unveiled what it claims is the "world’s first fossil-free hybrid vehicle" – and the world’s first hybrid soft-top – at this week’s Stockholm motor show.

Using a combination of E100 bio-ethanol fuel and electric power, the all-wheel drive BioPower can generate 191kW from its 2.0-litre turbo engine and 53kW from its electric motor – darting from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds.
