Kyron even better

A WEEK after announcing it had slashed between $2000 and $3000 (depending on the model variant) from its Kyron SUV, SsangYong Australia has provided details of a facelift which will accompany the price reductions.

These include revised exterior styling – a new bonnet, redesigned grille, larger front air intake, different headlight and tail-light clusters and “cleaner, more contemporary rear styling with a larger tailgate window”.

Inside, the interior is said to be “more driver-oriented” with a new instrument cluster design, improved night-time illumination, a new steering wheel (with shift controls for the five-speed T-Tronic automatic), revised cloth seat trim, black (rather than grey) dash trim and illuminated vanity mirrors.

Both the 104kW/310Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 121kW/340Nm 2.7-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel engines available also now meet the Euro IV emissions standard. Pricing starts from $32,990.
