AS THE SUV epidemic continues to spread through almost all global markets, ever more manufacturers continue to introduce crossover options in new and existing segments, but Subaru claims its Forester was the index case.
Of course Toyota might have something to say about that with its 1994 RAV4, but nonetheless, since its debut as the Streega concept in 1995, the Forester has gone on to be the Japanese car-makers best seller Down Under, and for good reason.
Now in its fourth generation, the family favourite continues to draw a good following and a mid-life update is intended to keep that interest coming.
Three years after the SJ model launched, Subaru has treated the Forester to a light facelift, a local suspension tune and a boost to cabin comfort, but is that enough to keep it in the consideration set amid so many other options?
