ALL Imprezas have a maximum five-star crashworthiness rating for occupant safety from the independent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) and a top four-star rating for pedestrian safety.

The Impreza R features stability control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, twin side curtain airbags, dual front airbags, dual side airbags and four-wheel disc brakes (ventilated front, solid rear).

Also included are side intrusion bars and five three-point seatbelts.
