Subaru Impreza pricing revealed

SUBARU has announced pricing of its new Impreza range, revealing sharp prices and high levels of standard equipment.

Prices are slightly up for most models but the all-important WRX stays at $39,990.

Subaru has put a strong emphasis on safety with all models in the new Impreza range fitted with six airbags and electronic stability control as standard equipment.

Consider that all models also come with all-wheel-drive and the Impreza is clearly a safe choice.

The new Impreza is only available as a hatch, even as a WRX.

All naturally-aspirated models come standard with a 110kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual, while a four-speed automatic costs an extra $2000. The 169kW turbo 2.5-litre WRX is only available with a manual.

The base R model kicks off at $24,490 and includes anti-skid brakes, air-conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, power mirrors, single CD with MP3 input and DataDot security tagging.

The next model in the range is the RX at $26,490, and adds 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-con, six-stack CD sound, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift and front foglights.

The best specified non-turbo Impreza is the RS at $29,490.

It adds sports seats, tinted windows, bodykit, mesh grille and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the WRX at $39,990 adds the more potent turbo engine, a rear limited slip differential, a sporty instrument cluster with special lighting and xenon headlights with auto washing function.
