Subaru cuts Impreza price again

Weeks after announcing a $1500 price cut for the Impreza R sedan, Subaru has moved to cut the price of the Impreza RS by $1000.
The Impreza range now starts with the R model at $22,990, the RX remains at $26,490 and the RS is $28,490.
Subaru now added alloy wheels to the standard equipment list of the Impreza R and is fitting an electric sunroof as standard equipment to the Impreza RX which is usually a $2000 option.
RS customers can also buy a special pack including leather trim, a sunroof and Xenon headlights, which would usually cost $5700, for $3000.
Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior said the company was able to make the price and equipment adjustments thanks to its financial strategy.
“Our currency hedging strategy has again enabled us to offer customers more value at a time when many competitors are looking at price increases,” Mr Senior said.
“Inevitably we will have to consider our pricing in the future, but for now we intend to pass on the benefit of our successful currency strategy to our customers.”
