SUBARU Australia has announced the release of its Outback Sport Touring XT special edition this week, the variant arriving as a limited time offering within the Japanese importer’s Large SUV line-up.
Priced from $57,490 plus on-road costs, the flagship Subaru Outback Sport Touring XT adds distinctive features that include Geyser Blue paint, green exterior garnishing, blackened rear badges, dark metallic alloy wheels, and a Crystal Black rear spoiler.
No interior changes are listed – nor images provided – however, GoAuto understands the Outback Sport Touring XT features the same level of specification found in the Touring grade, including an 11.6-inch infotainment array with nine-speaker harman/kardon audio, dual-zone climate control, electric sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and black Nappa leather upholstery.
Like other Outback XT variants, the Sport Touring is powered by Subaru’s horizontally opposed 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 183kW of power and 350Nm of torque and is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and full-time all-wheel drive.
“This special edition is all about celebrating the adventurous spirit that defines the Subaru Outback,” said Subaru Australia general manager Scott Lawrence.
“It offers a fresh, dynamic look while continuing to deliver the reliability and performance that Subaru drivers have come to expect
“We are thrilled to offer this distinctive model for a limited time and provide our customers with a unique option for their journeys, near or far.”
First deliveries of the special edition variant are due in local dealerships next month (September).
Subaru’s Outback competes in the hard-fought Large SUV under $80K segment where it has achieved year-to-date sales of 6643 (a 9.1 per cent share of the segment).
The model currently ranks third within the segment behind the Ford Everest (13,438 units and 18.5 market share points) and Isuzu MU-X (11,535 units and 15.9 market share points).
