SUBARU has used yesterday's Australian International Motor Show opening to reveal that its Tribeca SUV will be priced from $53,990 for a 3.0R model variant and $58,990 for a 3.0R Premium. A third row will add $2000.
On sale from next month, the Tribeca is fitted standard with dynamic stability control, dual front, side and curtain airbags, speed-sensitive wipers, satellite-navigation with reversing camera, dual-zone climate-control air-conditioning, 40/20/40-split folding rear seats, cruise control, a trip computer, MP3-compatible six-stacker nine-speaker in-dash CD stereo, under-floor cargo boxes, electric eight-way adjustable front seats and 18-inch alloys.
The Premium adds leather upholstery, a 22cm DVD system with wireless headphones and remote control, a sunroof and heated front seats with driver position memory.
Seven-seat Tribecas also gain a rear seat cooler with four settings, plus ceiling vents, aiding air-conditioning in second and third row seats.
Tribeca shares its horizontally opposed 3.0-litre six-cylinder with the Liberty range. In the Tribeca it develops 180kW at 6600rpm and 297Nm at 4200rpm and is mated to a five-speed Sportshift automatic.
Braked towing capacity is 2000kg, the first time this rating has been achieved by a Subaru.
