SUZUKI'S Ignis is as suggestive as they come with its mini-4WD proportions and masculine body sculpting. The message is that this is a slightly different small car not quite an off-roader but certainly more than an average hatchback. But in the end the expectations are not realised the Ignis ends up being an ordinary and not at all space-efficient small car, with no more dynamic abilities than anyone else. However the 1.3-litre engine is excellent, both punchy and economical, the tallish on-road looks are appealing to most eyes and the pricing - for the three-door version at least - is sharp.
