Jimny is 145mm longer and 55mm wider than its predecessor, the Sierra, to promote stability and reduced body roll during cornering

Although larger than its predecessor, Jimny's turning circle has been reduced to 9.8m

Its styling is dominated by an aggressive five-vent grille and large halogen headlights

The wrap-around bumpers are well integrated with the moulded splash panels to protect the body panels from chips and scratches

The large rear window and low mounted spare wheel ensure the driver has a good view of the road behind

All Jimny models feature air-conditioning and an AM/FM stereo CD player as standard

The upmarket JLX model also gets power steering, remote central locking, power windows and mirrors, cloth trim and roof rails The front seats fold flat to enable them to be used as beds for overnight trips

The front passenger seat slides forward to provide easy access to the rear seats

Unlike most of its rivals, the Jimny is built on a ladder-frame chassis

Jimny's Drive Action 4x4 system enables shifting between two-wheel drive and high-range four-wheel drive on the move at speeds of up to 100km/h

Its high approach and departure angles and dual-range four-wheel drive endow the Jimny with the same off-road ability as its predecessor

Automatic transmission is available as an option for the first time in Suzuki's smallest four-wheel drive
