Suzuki updates Kizashi too

BY MARTON PETTENDY | 14th Dec 2010

NOT content with launching its all-new Swift in Australia in February, Suzuki Australia will release an upgraded version of its lauded Kizashi mid-sizer around the same time.

Just as the new Swift will come with seven airbags and electronic stability control as standard across the range, the 2011 Kizashi will gain a driver’s knee airbag for all models, including the entry-level XL (currently priced at $27,990 plus on-road costs).

Now in production, all variants of Australia’s updated Kizashi will also score cruise control and a leather-clad steering wheel, while the mid-range XLS model will receive factory-fitted Bluetooth connectivity from the range-topping Kizashi Sport AWD.

The addition of a driver’s knee airbag not only brings the Kizashi into line with the smaller Swift, but along with seatbelt minders is expected to attract a top five-star ANCAP safety rating – the same maximum crash test score Suzuki Australia expect the new Swift to get.
