OVERSHADOWED by the success of its all-new stablemates in the Swift light hatch and the SX4 small crossover, Suzuki's slow-selling Liana has come in for a price realignment in an effort to increase its popularity.
Now priced from $17,888, more than $2000 less than its previous base price of $19,990, the Liana sedan and hatch is now claimed to be one of the best value for money vehicles in the small passenger car segment.
Liana continues to be powered by a 92kW/170Nm 1.8-litre fuel-injected engine with variable valve timing, which offers combined average fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km.
Similarly, standard features continue to include air-conditioning, power steering/windows/mirrors, remote keyless entry, a sports bodykit, foglights, alloy wheels and a seven-speaker/six-CD sound system with remote controls.
Standard safety equipment comprises ABS, EBD, twin front airbags and five three-point seatbelts.
"When you consider the Liana's specs with its competitors, it is a sensational package and now with the price positioning, it offers, perhaps, the best value in the small car segment," said recently appointed general manager for automobiles, Suzuki Australia, Tony Devers.
"The Liana embodies Suzuki's reputation of advanced technology, reliability and value for money, heaps of fun, and loads of equipment and the limited special price offer will broaden the appeal of this value-packed vehicle."
