FIRST there were limited-edition versions of the SX4, Jimny Sierra and Grand Vitara. Now, Suzuki Australia has released a value-added example of its smallest model, the light-sized Swift hatch, to mark the centenary of the Japanese brand this year.
The 100th Anniversary Edition Swift comes standard with 15-inch alloy wheels, keyless starting, climate-control air-conditioning, unique Alcantara interior trim, foglights, indicators integrated into its power-folding side mirrors and 100th Anniversary badging.
Priced from $17,490 in five-speed manual transmission form, the 2009 Swift LE is claimed to offer more than $5000 of added value over the entry-level Swift upon which it is based, for just $1000 more.
The special factory-built Swift will be available from April 1 in two exterior paint colours: Kashmir Blue and Maroon Brown.
“The new Swift LE represents extraordinary value, and captures the essence of the Suzuki philosophy of providing quality products with outstanding value for money,” Said Suzuki Australia general manager Tony Devers.
“Swift has racked up sales records in every market it has been released and holds the record for Suzuki as the fastest to pass the one million mark after just four years.
“In Suzuki’s 100th year of engineering excellence, the Swift 100th Anniversary Edition is sure to keep Australia’s best light car at the top of the sales charts,” said Mr Devers.
