Suzuki’s Swift recall

The potential problem – a result of a production error with the installation of the hose clamp – could, in rare cases, cause a fire hazard.
The recall affects examples of the popular light car produced between February 1, 2011 and March 29 this year, in the VIN range JSAFZC82S00100037 to JSAFZC82S00121974.
More than 90,000 Swifts have been recalled around the world due to the issue, with half of these in Suzuki’s home market of Japan.
Suzuki Australia said there have been no local reports or incidents relating to the issue.
The company will contact affected owners over the coming weeks asking them to take their vehicles for repair at their earliest convenience.
Meanwhile, Mini Australia has re-announced a recall action it first launched in January this year to repair 3700 local Clubman, Hatch and Cabrio models produced between March 2006 and January 2011.
Mini Australia product communications manager Scott Croaker said the recall notice had been re-issued because 2500 had not yet been repaired.
As we reported in January, this recall affected 235,000 Mini vehicles worldwide and was designed to rectify potential overheating of the coolant pump, with the remote possibility of an engine fire.
