THE SX4 hatch is due here early next year, and Suzuki has wasted no time in using its hot World Rally Championship car as a teaser.
Suzuki returns to the WRC next year and the SX4 WRC car – the main attraction on its Sydney stand from yesterday – features a newly developed AWD system with mechanical differentials front and rear and an electronic differential located in the centre.
Power is transmitted via a five-speed sequential gearbox. Specific performance details of the WRC car are unknown but the prototype car develops 238kW between 4000rpm and 4500rpm and a massive 637Nm at 3000rpm.
Maintaining the go-fast theme, Suzuki is showing its new $23,990 Swift Sport, which uses a sports-tuned 92kW 1.6-litre VVT engine.
