TOYOTA has revealed full pricing and specifications of its redesigned Corolla hatch and sedan range, which was launched today.
Biggest news is a base price of more than $20,000 for the first time, with (now six-speed) manual-transmission versions of both the entry-level Ascent sedan and hatch priced at $20,990. A four-speed automatic gearbox costs an extra $2000.
The $1000-higher starting price pits Toyota's larger, better equipped and more powerful new Corolla directly against premium small-car rivals like Holden's Astra, Honda's Civic and Ford's Focus, which is now the only model in its class not to come with ABS as standard across the range.
