Toyota’s evergreen Corolla badge is gleaming.
In current-generation hatch form, it exhibits new-found youthful style with much improved comfort and dynamism – reflected by its chart-topping sales in 2014 when it ousted the Mazda3.
But until now, the three-box sedan version has languished by comparison, with Toyota continuing to offer the dreary – if dependable – previous-generation version that came standard with a complete personality bypass.
Things, however, are about to change, meaning Mazda and co should look out.
