ECHO uses MacPherson struts with gas-filled dampers up front and a trailing arm torsion beam (or Eta beam) rear suspension configuration controlled by coil springs and gas shocks at the rear. A stabiliser bar is also employed at both ends. The front set-up has wide-based L-shaped lower arms to maximise rigidity and provide a crisp steering response. The Eta beam axle is a compact system that saves weight and intrusion into the cargo area. It consists of a U-shaped torsion beam and two long training arms.
