Toyota slashes base HiLux prices

While 4x4 variant prices remain unchanged, the base 2.7-litre petrol-powered, manual-only Work Mate single-cab/chassis is now priced at just $17,990.
That's $3000 less than the $20,990 sticker price the seventh-generation HiLux range opened with when it was launched 12 months ago in April 2005.
Dual-cab Work Mate 2.7 pricing remains unchanged at $26,490 and air-conditioning, ABS and metallic paint remain optional on both HiLux 4x2 Work Mate variants.
Pricing for the entry-level 4.0-litre V6-powered SR single-cab/chassis HiLux has also dropped - from $24,990 to $21,990 for the manual and from $27,030 to $24,030 for the auto, representing the same $3000 saving.
Meantime, $2000 has been trimmed off the price of the 4.0-litre V6 single-cab SR pick-up, with the manual now priced at $23,990 and the auto set at $26,030.
Likewise, the price of the auto-only 4.0-litre V6 SR Extra-Cab pick-up has dropped $2000 to $27,990.
As with the four-cylinder Work Mate, air-conditioning, ABS and metallic paint remain optional on both HiLux SR single and extra-cab pick-ups.
Pricing remains unchanged for all 3.0-litre turbo-diesel variants, all 4.0-litre V6 double-cab 4x2 variants and, as stated, all 4x4 HiLux variants and the double-cab Work Mate.
The bigger new HiLux range continues to comprise an unprecedented 30 variants, now ranging from $17,990 to the flagship turbo-diesel dual-cab SR5 at $51,850.
