AT the 100 Series launch, changes included a first in Australia for Toyota with the V8 engine found in the top-spec GXV, though that has now been restricted to the "mother of all Cruisers", the Lexus LX70. Another first for LandCruiser was the introduction of independent front suspension on GXV. Torsional rigidity of the 100 series has also improved - it's now 1.5 times that of the superseded 80 series.
