A NEW concept dubbed Toyota GR Supra Performance Line Concept TRD is set to be revealed at the Osaka motor show in Japan this week, previewing go-fast and look-fast parts from the Japanese auto giant’s TRD motorsport division.
Toyota has so far released just one sketch of the modified Supra, with its silhouette clearly showing an aggressive bodykit and large rear spoiler.
It is expected that the concept will give Supra customers a taste of how they will soon be able to upgrade their sportscar, courtesy of an upcoming TRD parts catalogue.
It is unlikely that engine enhancements will be offered, however a rortier exhaust, better brakes and upgraded suspension components like strut braces and lowered coilover springs are a definite possibility.
The Supra will be launched in Australia in the third quarter, however Toyota is yet to confirm whether it will offer TRD-branded performance parts from the outset.
The reborn sportscar will be a magnet for aftermarket performance parts and accessories specialists, so Toyota is clearly getting in on the act early to demonstrate its potential through official factory channels.
