AUSTRALIA has both an obsession with SUVs and a hunger for small cars, and while many manufacturers can offer a model in each segment, very few can offer a car that does both.

Volkswagen has taken its versatile Golf 7 Wagon and added a little more ride height, confidence-boosting traction and an outdoors outfit, resulting in the trail-friendly Golf Alltrack.

With the popular hatchback at its core, the new Alltrack version has the easy to live with features of the Golf wagon, but added all-terrain ability to appeal to Australia's adventurous motorists.
