A fatuous fantasy? No, the second-generation Tiguan comes close, really close. And throws in the thoughtful interior features that we liked so much about the original, plus some new ones for good measure.
Our time with a lower-mid-spec 110TSI Comfortline variant took in a long weekend away, packed with everything needed for two adults and an infant on a semi-self-catered escape to the mountains.
Minor, forgivable niggles aside, the Tiguan absolutely nailed its family-friendly brief.
