VOLKSWAGEN will release a more powerful and economical version of its 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel Touareg SUV early next year, holding pricing firm at the current $74,990.
The revised engine increases power and torque to 176kW (up 11kW) and 550Nm (up a noteworthy 50Nm) respectively, while German figures indicate average fuel consumption with the six-speed automatic will drop to 9.9L/100km.
The current Australian consumption figure is 10.7L/100km. Claimed acceleration of 8.3 seconds from 0-100km/h puts the updated vehicle almost a full second faster than the outgoing model.
