VOLVO Car Australia (VCA) this week announced a surprise decision to take the new-generation V70 wagon.
On a number of occasions this year, company executives downplayed the chances of continuing with the V70 into its next generation as the current model struggled to justify its existence alongside the more popular XC70 crossover.
Recognising limited demand for the all-new model, VCA will offer a single T6 model variant using a new 210kW 3.0-litre turbo inline six-cylinder engine. It will come loaded with gear including a power-operated tailgate.
The new model will arrive early next year and is expected to be priced around $70,000.
