VOLVO is expected to reveal a concept car at the Detroit auto show in January designed to knock another brick out of the conservative wall surrounding its vehicles – and to point to a forthcoming model.
GoAuto understands that the show car will be based on Volvo's P1 large-car platform and adopt a high-riding SUV look (and four-wheel drive) with the possibility of gull-wing doors and similar rear-end treatment to the C30.
Volvo would not confirm the vehicle's existence, however, it is believed to originate from the Swedish brand’s Barcelona design centre.
The Ford-owned marque is also expected to show off a design concept of the all-new S60 in either Detroit or, a couple of months later, in Geneva.
