VOLVO is offering its customers the chance to spice up their vehicles with the introduction of the Polestar Performance Parts line of hi-po products.
The S60, V40, V60 and XC60 will be offered with a range of enhancements including chassis parts, wheels, exhaust and details for both the interior and exterior.
Polestar Performance Parts will go on sale in Australia at the beginning of the second quarter of 2016 through the dealer network, but pricing is yet to be confirmed.
The products will be made available either as full kits or as individual parts, with a focus on wheels, suspension packages and bodykits.
All parts are developed and tested in combination with Volvo, and will have no impact on the Swedish car-maker's factory warranty.
There is also the possibility that the performance parts will be made to fit other models in the future.
The products were developed in conjunction with the engineers and racing drivers from Polestar and motor sport twin Cyan Racing.
Polestar research and development director Henrik Fries said that the company wanted to use the experience of the Cyan Racing cars to influence the performance of regular Volvo models.
“The secret of our success on the tracks is in creating balanced and precise cars that are predictable for the driver to control in all situations,” he said.
“Lessons learned on the tracks are transferred directly into the development of our road cars and performance products. The new range of Polestar Performance Parts is no exception– they are designed and developed with the very same philosophy.”Australia was the pilot market for Volvo's S60 Polestar performance flagship that has since been adopted in other global markets. The car-maker paired up with Garry Rogers Motorsport to enter a team in the V8 Supercar championship a few years back, but its future is unclear beyond the 2016 season.
